How we build

Every Hybrid:Home is built from panels manufactured off site, then assembled on site. Here is what that actually means for the house you end up living in.

The thermal envelope

Structural insulated panels and cross-laminated timber form one continuous shell around the house. No gaps between studs. No cold bridges where the frame meets the slab. Air and health

A sealed house needs deliberate ventilation, so we pair the envelope with mechanical heat recovery ventilation. Filtered fresh air, continuously, without opening a window in the middle of winter to clear condensation. It matters most for anyone with asthma, hay fever or a sensitivity to dust and smoke.

Verified on completion

When the house is finished we test it. A blower door measures real airtightness. A thermal camera finds anything the drawings missed. You get the results, not a promise.

Why panels

Panels are cut in a factory to millimetre tolerances, so the shell goes up in days rather than weeks. Less time exposed to weather. Less variability on site. Less disruption if you are still living in or selling your existing home while the build is underway.

We use European SIP and CLT panels supplied through Panel Haus, Anthony’s own supply business. It means fewer parties between the design and the material, and no guessing about what the system can and cannot do.
